TTL port to a serial port on a demo board

i'm trying to communicate between the RC and a 2nd PIC on a demo board that has a serial port. I can get data off the demo board and onto my copmtuer so i know that the port works. my question is this: What is the best way to go about communicating between the TTL port and a serial port? It seems the best way would be to do it the same way they describe on page 163 of the PIC18F6520/8520/6620/8620/6720/8720 data sheet.

"The master controller (Processor 1)
initiates the data transfer by sending the SCK signal.
Data is shifted out of both shift registers on their programmed
clock edge and latched on the opposite edge
of the clock. Both processors should be programmed to
the same Clock Polarity (CKP), then both controllers
would send and receive data at the same time."

how do i go about sending an SCK signal?
