is there something you can use to make a 8 bit parallel to a serial signal for a parallel LCD screen,
to be more clear i need something with a serial input but with a 8 bit parallel output

I COULD use a shift register but i dont know how good that would work since the parallel output updates as the input update, would i be able to use a shift register or should i use something else.

i dont know how good i described it but i am trying to convert a parallel lcd module to a serial, tell me if i need to redescribe the problem
