Well Mike, I find that for one thing, its a heck of a lot faster than the normal Windows search, since windows searches for your file everytime, whereas Google Desktop indexes everything, so it just searches the index rather than scanning your comp everytime

And now with beta 2, the whole sidebar thing is totally cool, with weather (for US only, to my knowledge ) and emails, news, and photo slideshows and stuff like that...

All said and done, I guess it's really your personal opinion wether you like it or not.
Sounds pretty cool, although I don't think I'll install it. Just something I don't think I really need.
