Dean Kamen
addressed a crowd at the opening of the new IEST (Integrated Science, Engineering and Technology) complex at the
University of Hartford (CT) yesterday. The opening was
broadcast on CT-N channel as well, with a repeat scheduled for today at 11:59am EST. It can also be
viewed online. University of Hartford is a sponsor of FRC team 782, Kilowatts, and
offers FIRST students scholarships.
During Monday’s ISET opening, U.S. Rep. John B. Larson presented the university with a $1.03 million check for research into laser-guided manufacturing.
The grant was awarded by the nonprofit, federally-funded
Connecticut Center for Advanced Technology (CCAT), a national center for next-generation manufacturing based at Rentschler Field in East Hartford.
