This is true, but individual contributions are going to be a drop in the pot. Current rescue operations are burning up cash at a rate of half a
billion dollars per day. Congress is expected to approve a 10+ billion dollar emergency aid package. This is only to cover the next week or two.
So yes--we should help by donating what we can to whatever avenue of aid we see fit, but realistically that money isn't going to do much at all.
