I think we can all agree that this is the anniversary of a terrible day in the history of our nation and in the history of the world. I would, however, ask that we not confuse what this is an anniversary of. It is irrefutably clear in hindsight, and was arguably clear at the time, that Iraq had nothing to do with the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001. Not to mention that Iraq was in no way capable of threatening our national security after the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001. We should remember those who lost their lives on Sept. 11, 2001 and we should respect and be thankful to the troops that have carried out their orders in Afghanistan, Iraq, and across the Middle East despite the many obstacles (equipment and low troop numbers to accomplish their goals) that have been put in their way, but we should do so for seperate reasons. I guess what I'm trying to say is that September 11, 2001 was not about Iraq, and that it seemed kind of hazy in your original post as to your intent. Good topic, though, and thanks for posting
