I think you can use any of them. As far as I know, the RC car chassis use standard servos for steering. You'll probably have to modify the drive system though. Actually, if you buy a full kit (chassis, servos, speed controller, motor, etc), you should be able to connect it to the vex controller. I haven't inspected Vex very closely, but I'm pretty sure that it will work with standard servos.
