ThunderChicken GP at Kettering Kickoff

If any team was to ever win an award for being the recipient of the most GP, I think it would have to be Team 1504. We started out with the GP from HOT and Las Guerrillas to start up our team, driving at least an hour there and back. Then, we went on to our regional and the Killer Bees showed us an incredible amount of GP, and now at the Kettering Kickoff, team 217, the ThunderChickens blew my mind with thier GP.

The day started out with my team arriving late due to my "exceptional" map reading skills. Once we arrived at Kettering, we were expecting to have a robot in our pits for our use, the practice bot for 217. What we found was a pit with a bunch of supplies on the table and no robot. A bit confused, we went over to the ThunderChickens pit and discovered that, in hearing of my "map reading skills" they had decided to make sure we didn't miss out on a match and had sent their drive team out to the field. Before I was able to get to the field to check out the robot and watch the match, I was greeted by a swarm of ThunderChickens all offering help, introductions, and asking what we needed.

Throughout the day, I don't think that there was 1 second when there was not a ThunderChicken in our pit area, helping our kids, helping me (and by the way, I now have a whole new respect for drive coaches...) and doing whatever we asked for. We had 3 charged batteries available for us at all times, the ThunderChicken pit crew available to us whenever we needed, it was amazing.

I expected to have a robot placed in our pits. That would have made me thoroughly happy. What I saw on Saturday was amazing, just amazing. I can say thank you so many times and I will never feel like it's enough. Thank you, thank you, thank you ThunderChickens, you are just amazing.
