I've got a few, but here is one:
I was a senior in high school (just a few years ago

). The local Rotary Club would ask 2 seniors to attend their weekly lunch, so I got to go. Here's the way it worked: each senior got to go two weeks... you would get asked to go to this lunch, and then sit there for the first week... for the second week, you had to introduce yourself and "say a little something" about yourself.
During my first week at the lunch, another student who was an exchange student got up and told the group how her year in Brazil was. The next week it was my turn... so I proceed to pull out my notes and give these local business leaders 10 minutes on who I was at the wise age of 17. Little did I know that all they wanted to hear was my name and who my parents are... they just sat there and stared at me.
When I got done, many of these guys said stuff like "Baker, I didn't know that you were longer winded than your dad was", and "my, Baker, you should go into politics".
There ya go.
