Re: activation code
I posted this message under the 3DS Max forum also. I had a horrible time trying to get Inventor Pro and 3DS Max installed on our computers at the school. Since we have very few computers that are capable of running this software, we use laptops which are not connected to the school's server. Now there may be a way to still use the network license that we have been given, but I was unable to successfullly accomplish this. Good luck to all of you that want to try.
After multiple installs and uninstalls and multiple conversations with Autodesk where I was getting conflicting information, I have found that the licenses may be switched to standalone. This is true for 3DS Max and Inventor. Just follow these steps...
1.) Install the software as standalone.
2.) Go through the activation process and write down the request code.
3.) Call 800-225-1327 to have the license switched to standalone.
4.) They will give you your activation code via email or by phone.
From what I understand, you must follow this process for each computer that you install the software. The FIRST point of contact at Autodesk is Kelly Stanphill (Kelly.Stanphill@autodesk.com). I have pasted the email that she sent to me. Good luck!
