Re: Whale Shark at Championship

I spent all day this past Saturday at the new Georgia Aquarium and must say it is OUTSTANDING! It was packed and we had to wait quite a while to get in but it was worth it. For anyone going to the Championships I would highly recommend a visit. It is right across the street from the CNN center and Centennial Park. My wife and I bought season passes because we are usually in Atlanta at least 2 to 3 times a year.

The Georgia Aquarium would be a WONDERFUL place to have the wrap party. I can see FIRST renting out the aquarium for the wrap party and concluding with a fireworks show in Centennial Park. They have a giant ballroom and could easily hold the FIRST crowd in the Georgia Aquarium. Remember FIRST is For Recognition and Inspiration of SCIENCE and Technology so the Georgia Aquarium would bring a wonderful life sciences conclusion to the engineering and technology competitions. I was definitely inspired by the aquarium. They are also building the World of Coke next door to the aquarium but it doesn't open until Summer 2007.
