I don't know what inventor studio is either, but I do know that you can create a constraint, then drive the constraint and record the moving to a movie file. Or you could just watch it move if you want to see what would happen. If you are having trouble getting things to move, you need to look at what constraints are already on the assembly. You might have a grounded part where you don't want to. Or you might have over-constrained stuff to make it look right (note that inventor will only complain about over-constraining if constraints are redundent or conflict, not if they are just constrained too much to do what you want).
