Re: HOOK 'EM HORNS!!!!

Comeon...half you guys are as absurd as Lee Corso (who is a complete and utter tool, by the way).

Texas wins the NC after running all over a completely mediocre USC defense who forgot how to tackle. Everyone starts riding VY's jock, since he put up 400+ yards of offense.

He was very impressive, I'll give you that. His rushing yards are legit. But putting up another 267 yards passing or whatever it was isn't that impressive. Especially on 30 passes. All it shows is that he was playing a dink and dunk passing game. He doesn't have the ability to throw deep, and he never will with that sidearm throwing motion (which won't cut it in the NFL).

Compare his USC stats to the stats of the OSU game (ie: a real defense, the only defense they played that bears any resemblance to a NFL defense).

276 yards, 9.31 YPA 2 TD 2 INT 20 Rushes 76 Yards 3.8 YPC. One run was 32 yards, subtract that, and his YPC is only 2.3, which is terrible.

Those stats are much more pedestrian. This is the real indicator of how "good" he is.

You all are confusing terms also. Tom Brady is a mobile QB. So are Donovan McNabb and Aaron Brooks. Mike Vick and Vince Young are running QB's. Amazing athletes, who are able to take over games at the college level because they're simply more athletic than anyone else on the field, but poorly suited for the QB position in the NFL, which is a whole other world of speed, compared to college. This is why Young will not be a superstar, in the NFL. He's an even more mediocre passer than Vick was at this point of his development, and Vick still can't pass to save his life in the NFL.
