Depends on what OS you're running on.
If you're on the PC (Windows variants) the LabVIEW 8.0 installation does
NOT install NI-VISA; for PC, the model we adhere to involves installing the Driver CD which includes NI-VISA (or install NI-VISA seperately). The Driver CD contains all of the Windows drivers you would ever need for all of our products, so if you don't want (or can't) install the Driver CD you can seperately download the components you need to speed installation (turn off your virus scanner for faster installs!).
If you're on the Mac, LabVIEW 8.0
DOES install NI-VISA because the Mac does not have a Driver CD.
