The CMU-Cam is powered off of the RC, via a PWM line. The RC, in turn, draws the power for the PWM from the backup battery. If you are trying to do some bench testing, then I'd reccomend splicing quick-disconnects onto one end of a PWM cable and then connect the PWM cable to the Cam power line, the other end to the backup battery pigtail, and then the pigtail to the battery.
