I've been wondering about designs like yours. That wheel must be spinning something like 2,000 rpm, right? How well does the chain work at that speed? I always think of normal chains running at fairly modest RPMs and don't have personal experience with bicycle-style chains running that fast. (Although I know I've had cam chains in cars that would run at 6,000+ RPM, but I assume they were designed for that.) We are using timing belts instead of chains, mostly to save weight up high, but I am curious to see the chain-driven systems.
