Getting on the ramp is not a very easy task. For a lot of teams, once they are on the ramp, they cannot get off or they will tip over. Many of the teams with six wheel drive and/or shooters high up had a very difficult time attempting to get onto the ramp.
I am really surprised at this. The PNW (with a couple of notable exceptions) is not known as a FIRST powerhouse, but EVERY robot in Bellevue yesterday went up and down the ramp without a problem (OK, I lied, one of the rookies could do it, but it had to line up carefully). Top Gun and the TRC-clone chassis could generally go up forward or backwards, even at an angle. All were 6WD. I wonder what the difference is? The rest of your observations match mine.
