After our shop rags were mentioned in the local paper this week, I received several questions about the significance of the shop rag. I did a search here and realized that we had never posted the reasons for these giveaways which appear to be unique among FIRST teams.
We give out shop rags, which have become a symbol of our team, for three primary reasons:
- They are a symbol of always being ready to help.
- We are proud to represent Michigan and its blue collar history.
- With a team guideline of an “80% plus student-built-robot”, we hope all teams get a chance to get their hands dirty!
