1) The company that sold us all the Poof balls is willing to buy them back for $3.99 each (ha, ha, nasty rumor-starter!)
2) Donate them to your local children's day care center. Good idea, been thought of by many teams. Just be sure to wash them off first (yucky when the children start to lick/eat the Poof balls....hmm, maybe not such a good idea after all)
3) Donate them to local hospital to use at their discretion for children's ward and/or Alzheimer's ward (again, be sure to clean them off before donating)
4) churches and other social service agencies (as an example, the national centers for Interfaith Hospitality Networks
www.ihn.org)
5) Chop them up into shreds and give to FedEx stores to use as packing material (hmmmm, probably not as biodegradable as cornstarch packing noodles they currently use)
GOT IT! Why not have the team members sign the balls and give them to the school principal, the main sponsors, the mentors, etc as a "token of appreciation" trophy that will sit on their desk and be a topic of conversation for future reference.
Just think of an easier way to spread "gracious professionalism" and the spirit of FIRST.
By the way, our team is madly chopping-up tetras from 2005 into trophies....Be aware that your team might be getting one from us this year!
