Re: Great Autonomous Defense

Hi, I'm from team 40 and I have two comments for that video. Yes, defensive autonomous modes were huge and we were shut down that match.

1. we are a shooter and our robot was stopped from moving left and aligning with the goal to shoot.

2. do you have video of the two rounds after that?? (they were 2 of our best) that was round 1 of the QF's we were seed 8 going against seed 1. after that match and getting blocked we changed our autonomous program to move sidways first, then drive straight to the goal which worked and we won autonomous in the next two matches moving us into the quarterfinals

my experience from this event is that autonomous is like a chess match, trying to figure out what the other team is going to do and changing your strategy to defeat it.

imo this year has been the BEST year for autonomous it seemed like everybody was at least doing something...even if it was drive straight across and block the other team!

good job to all the teams at GSR it was a great battle!
