We had two quite memorable plays at Pitt this weekend-
First one was when we lost our right side drive chain and our awesome driver (John, the "baldheaded beast

") still managed to get us up onto the ramp, allowing our alliance to score that sweet 25-point bonus that won the match for us.
The second and most interesting was when we were in a huge hurry to get up onto the ramp towards the end of the time and there was a poofball sitting at the base of the ramp right in line with our wheels. Rather than maneuver around the ball, John asked for low gear and gunned it up the ramp. Well, the ball turned our bot sideways and there we were on the ramp, the low side wheels touching the carpet and the other, high side wheels were being held up off of the ramp by the poofball. I am thankful that our CG is so low or we would have tipped then, but with a 103 lb. drivetrain, we were fine, anyway, John gave the bot a twist with the joysticks and all at once I saw our bot spin, the poofball disapear, and our bot more or less jump onto the ramp. I found out when we went to take the bot off of the field that in the process of spinning, the ball had gotten shoved between one of our go-cart tires and a crossmember of the frame (about a two inch space) and smashed/swallowed/shoved up into the bot. When I found it, the ball and been smashed down to about half of its original size and was shoved up between the top of our frame and bottom of our circuit board.

Any toughts/comments?
