ASME has extended the deadline for the 10 $5,000 FIRST Scholarships until March 22, 2006.
One can easily read between the lines here: not enough applications came in to award 10 scholarships. Out of the thousands of HS Seniors in FIRST, less than 10 applied for these 10 scholarships. If you want $5K for college, fill out the application and send it in - it doesn't get much simpler.
Reading between the lines even more.... if folks don't apply for these scholarships, they will disappear from future years. Nobody wants that to happen, so start applying.
