I am a big fan of this change -- makes it easier for veterans to find out about rookie problems and jump in to help fix them, and that makes the event run smoother.
I have to say it is a great idea for FIRST Mentorship program for the pits to be arranged Rookie Veteran Rookie Veteran especially with the amount of rookies this year and the complexity of the game.

I know personally there was 4-5 teams that I helped with different programming issues that were within a 30 ft radius of our pit. It encourages rookies that are having problems to ask people next to them.

Yes is was a pain somewhat to find a team but I think FIRST should do something like it at all regionals.
