What we did when we couldn't ramp was made the front of our robot like a "sled" so it would slide up easier.

The front (or back) of your robot probably looks like a right angle. Take a saw and cut it so it has a 45 degree angle instead. This way, when you run at the ramp at high speeds, some of your forward momentum is converted into upwards momentum to help you get up the ramp.
