Re: 2006 Davis Sacramento Regional

we had 4 separate teams come to our pit and comment on our robot's remarkable similarity to 254's
We probably would have gotten even more if we hadn't simplified our conveyor system that origionally looked -exactly- like 254's did. A little irritating though how often we were compared to them simply because we were doing very well with a similar strategy. I guess I was hoping more people would take note of our turret and how adaptable we could be when we couldn't land exactly where we wanted to shoot from.

The victor was a huge dissapointment. I tried to sort of jerk and twist our bot into firing range with only half the drivetrain pulling which almost worked until the opposing alliance figured me out and gave us a friendly little shove back to where we started. We didn't have any chance once our bot couldn't get into firing range.

As a side note, I just wanted to say that I really enjoyed meeting the other teams which I really tried to put a lot of effort into this regional when I had nothing to fix (mainly the drive teams during strategy meetings but also the others that came by to say hi) and congrats to all the people who got awards.
