Boston was
amazing. Thanks to everyone who made the regional truly memorable, with all of its firsts
(no pun intended), including but not limited to Blair in the Zamboni and the "fire drill". It was great to meet Woodie and Dean, and it was great to meet so many amazing people on amazing teams... this was truly memorable.
but what i wanted to mostly give kudos to everyone there was the sportsmanship. I've been to about... -counts on fingers- ten or so competitions over the past five years
(i was a tag-along for the first two) and in all of the competitions i've been too--with Championship Events at both Epcot and Atlanta included--i have never been to a competition with such nice people. Just because FIRST is all about GP and teamwork and sportsmanship, that doesnt mean that all teams behave as they are expected to at all times. It was a wonderful relief when not only our team, but other teams as well, were embraced and respected by our peers. There was seamless positive attitude and energy at the venue--in the stands, in the pits, and everywhere inbetween--that was unique to Boston, and i hope to find it at many more regionals to come.
