Was the 12 alliance tournament planned at the beginning of the season? It doesn't seem to fit section 8.4 of the manual. Other regionals had almost as many teams (e.g., 63 at NJ, 64 at VCU back in Week 1) but followed the usual 8 alliance format for eliminations. GTR has two fields, making it more practical to expand the elimination field. I think it's a great idea -- just wondering if teams that registered for GTR knew this was going to happen?
