Basically, Delphi gathered so much attention by dominating every regional it went to, that by the time it got to nationals, they had a target on their back. It was actually quite amazing...I was witness to their fall. Remember, this was the era of 1 v 1 v 1, so it was very easy for two teams to double up on one. Essentially, both teams went nuts on Delphi, not allowing them to score, and one of them managed to sneak in some points, and Delphi was gone. The roar that went up from the crowd was something very amazing. Of course, if you were on Delphi at the time, I'm sure that roar didn't sound so good to you...but remember, it IS the ultimate show of respect when you think about it.

Same thing happened to 177 after getting the #1 seed at Disney. We just got pinned and there were no time limits on it back then.
