I talked with the DJ at Toronto, who's been doing the Canadian Regionals for 5 years. He's pretty much left alone, because he knows what he's doing and is obviously experienced enough to not be force fed a playlist. From what I heard, it is up to the individual regional committees to enforce "The List." Talk to your regional directors for more information.
My new pet project for the summer is to get my DJing whitepaper cleaned up and approved by the men upstairs so it can become a guide for new DJ's instead of "The List," which is IMHO rediculously restrictive.
