Well, apparently the team is made up or was made up of two different teams, and the school mascots were cowboys and indians, and they were trying to find a name that would mesh the two. And one of the kids suggested pioneers. How it got to Pi-oneers, I don't think I was told that part/remember. lol Sorry.
