from what i understand its not really 7 extra number crunchers its actually just split number crunchers... like 1 for physics... 1 for textures... 1 for AI... etc etc...

so for programmers EACH PART OF THE GAME has to be coded diffrently and compiled diffrently for each processor... as apposed to the 1 main on the xbox360 where its 1 code 1 complie... =D
