If you are a student, some teams have a "President" and then a VP for Technical and VP for Business.
The important thing is for the team, including the mentors/teachers to have a plan and clear lines of communication and decision making, on how you are going to run the team. A contract and a mission statement works for a lot of teams.
There are some team business plans and team handbooks posted in the white papers (see left bar on home page) on CD.
Also, if you have an adult mentor helping with business part of the team, have them join NEMO (Non-engineering Mentor Organization.) But you are welcome to visit
www.firstnemo.org. In the resources section are lots of helpful papers, many related to the business of organizing a team.
***personal note*** It would be great if you attached a state to "Montvale." It sometimes will help with directing resources and people your way if we know what part of the world you reside in.
