Re: CD's Unofficial Caption Contest #98

A rare photo was released of a secret ritual, believed to be an annual event celebrated in the Spring, dedicated to the ancient mystic Ka'amen. Little is known about the sect, but it is believed they are a small offshoot of a robotics competition.

Scholars know little about the 2nd Century holy man Ka'amen, who was believed to be a great-grandson of Mary Magdelene. The photo shows a recreation of a Medieval illuminated manuscript found in a ruined monastary in what is now Lebanon, which is the only known surviving page of Ka'amen's writings. There is much speculation about the significance of the spread-eagle position on the ground, and of the colorful garments worn during the ceremony.

In addition to being a mystic, Ka'amen also created several unique devices, including an ingenious ox cart which balanced on two wheels. Researchers say Leonardo DaVinci spent several years studying the drawings and writings of Ka'amen. Some believe Leonardo copied portions of the manuscripts, and then destroyed them.
