Another option might be to make them 1.124 for the 1/2" ID flanged bearings and if someone wanted to use a 3/8" shaft just put a 3/8" ID / 1/2" OD flanged bronze bushing in the 1/2" ID roller bearing to take up the space. They are cheap (~$.50-$.75) and readily available from places like McMaster and MSC.
