In 2004 177 used vacuum to power all the typically pnuematic systems on our robot (shifters, etc.). We made our pump using a pnuematic cylinder from the kit, a sprocket modified to act as an eccentric, and several check valves to prevent backflow and allow us to draw a vacuum on both strokes. Oh and our frame was the accumulator.

I would also like to point out that 2004 was the only year that this was legal because we were allowed to use the solenoids on the vacuum systems that year. The way the rules read now you can't do this.
