Re: Premiere won't recognize camera - please help

When the camera is connected via firewire, anything that you are editing in the timeline will be sent to the camera as well. That is why you may hear audio coming out of the camera every once in a while. There should be preferences in Premiere for the camera setup (somewhere in the 'capture' dialog)

From there all you need to do is edit, render, start recording on the cam and hit play in the app.
