Re: CD's Unofficial Caption Contest #104

(yaaaaaaaawns) Sorry about that, long day. Checked out seven campers in twenty minutes, disassembled seven Mindstorms robots, sorted out all the parts, and wrote a letter to boot. (I mean, you've just GOT to have the letter.)

First place, as I couldn't settle on one in at least five minutes, plus the time it takes to start a load of laundry, is a tie:

Roomba #3: "George, Fred, my group is ready, how about yours?"
Roomba #2: "Hi Rhonda... that's some mighty nice infrared action you've got going on there, I don't suppose you would like to get together after this and..."
Roomba#1: "Fred! Not now! Alright, here's the deal, they've all gone to lunch, but they won't be gone for long, so we have to act quickly... on the count of three, I want you two to lead your groups in a straight line toward the bleachers there on the left, behind them is the exit door, and once we reach it, we're free!"
Roombas #2 and 3: "FREEDOM!"
Roomba #1: "Then on the count of three, let the Roomba Revolution begin: one... two... three! Go! Go! Go straight! In a straight line, I said! Stop going around in circles! Stop! Arrrrrghhhhhhh!
Roomba #2: "Sorry George."
Roomba #1: "You guys suck! You really, really suck!"
Roombas #2 and 3: "Well of course we do, George, we're vacuums."

Which means a few awards are in order. (All should be construed as paper-plate awards, paper plate not included.)

Year 2 Champion: Travis Hoffman

Year 2 Runner-Up*: Heidi Foster
*In the event that the Champion is unable to fulfill his duties, the runner-up will assume the title. But, uh, The Heidi Foster Rule still applies here.

Most Wins This Year: Travis Hoffman (6)

Most Second Places This Year: Gary Dillard (6)

Most Honorable Mentions This Year: Heidi Foster (35)

The "Always The Bridesmaid" Award*: Brad Cahn (52 points)
*Most points earned without actually winning a contest. Historically, winners of this award end up working for FIRST.

Funniest Team: Team 116, Epsilon Delta (253 points combined)
*Alright, folks without teams together scored 516 points by my math, but that doesn't count.

Some other fun statistics that come with having a spreadsheet, for your interest:
Points Scored This Year: 2,986
Average Average Score: 1.8 points per contest

Onward!
