As 116 won't decide at least until school starts, I can't tell you where we will be going. But I can say that the NASA/VCU (Virginia) Regional is by far my favorite regional I have attended (VCU, Chesepeake, Philly, Denver, Peachtree). The Siegal Center is a near perfect venue. 64+ teams. Great spirit, great team party (at the Science Museum, and this year they had Krispy Kremes!
). The best MC in FIRST (Jeff Seaton). It has been a Week 1 Regional the past few years, so that can be positive and negative. But it also means that alot of times it can be the focus of attention (as it was this year, as the only week 1 regional webcasted), and many FIRST "celebs" attend to scope out that year's game.
The one problem is if VCU and NJ stay on the same weekend, they will both be Week 1 regionals next year
So then 1403 couldn't come.
But we encourage everyone else to!
If 116 continues as it has, we will likely attend 2 competitions, most likely a local one and one further away. Hopefully our 2nd competition will be Championship, if not then we might make the trip to somewhere like Peachtree, Pittsburgh, Philly, NJ, Buckeye, or NYC. Of course we could goto both VCU and Chesepeake, like we did in 03 and 04. Who knows.
