3) One thought is to host a social on Friday evening directly after the pits shut down and then end no later than 9pm.....like it or not?
4) What sort of food would you expect at a team social (free, paid-for, styles, etc?)
5) What sort of entertainment would you like to see at a team social? Examples might be "human-player" games, arcade-style games, karaoke, dancing, LAN-party games, true "Disney-style" entertainment.

1) I think the regionals should host the social on the friday night after the matches. I wouldn't do it on anyother night for the reason that there is too much going on from thursday and saturday - friday is much more peaceful. Teams get to meet one another and give them a chance to settle down and enjoy a well deserved break.
2) Depends on Venue side and if its cheaper or not to hold it there or a hall instead.
3) I like the 9pm deadline although it depends on what time the pits close each venue is different and the time should be extended accordingly and taken into affect the rest time needed by teams so they're nice and fresh for the final day of matches and awards.
4) Buffet style would be nice which would include a wide assortment of foods. Payment for such could be built into the registration for that event. or you could just do the standard pizza / chips and soda idea - not the healthier option though.
5) Human player games would be nice, LAN-party games would also be cool, a DJ would be nice and some live entertainment would also be neat. Like the food depending what you decide to go with payment if necessary could be built into the registration fee.
