Did you ever get your problem sorted out as I am having the exact same problem with Premiere Pro and my JVC GR-D73AC camera.
I was using it with premiere OK but I changed my PC and since then I can't get it to work. My device is recognised as AVC Compliant DV Camcorder the same as yours is. Any help appreciated...
