These wheels made out of Vex parts sound really neat, but I'm not entirely sure they'll be Vex competition legal. Just being made entirely out of Vex parts is not the only qualification for being Vex legal, for instance cutting metal plates into gears is considered illegal. This is not my interpretation of the rules, but the
official one. As such I'm not sure if when you used rubber links and removed the screw part and drilled a hole if that is still legal. I'd say there's a good shot it's against the spirit of the rules and therefore illegal. I hope you can use them, but I'd make a post on the forum linked to above and ask specifically because it would be awful to show up at the competition and not be allowed to use them.
