The shafts shouldn't fall out; I roughed up the ends of them so that they don't slip out of the clutches. I've used this method on several other robots, and as long as the shaft isn't getting a bunch of side load it stays in.

And I'm not actually in the competition, I was just playing around with some ideas for the game.
