Re: NFL Pick 'em week 17

Week 17:

SATURDAY:
NY Giants at Washington
The Giants need to win this game to get into the playoffs. Among the 7-8 teams, they control their own destiny, but with the way they're playing I don't think they're gonna pull off a victory at FedEx Field.

SUNDAY:

Atlanta at Philadelphia
Philly's going to dominate. Mora's done after this game.

Buffalo at Baltimore
Given the way that Baltimore has shut down firearm QBs and RBs, it is obvious (unless somehow JP Losman becomes an instant firearm) which way this will go. The Ravens will assure themselves of at least bye as a result.

Carolina at New Orleans

Neither team is playing for anything and New Orleans needs to come out and win to have momentum.

Cleveland at Houston

If you can beat the Colts, you can almost certainly beat the Browns. This will be a high-scoring affair.

Detroit at Dallas

Dallas's D finally catches a break.

Green Bay at Chicago

Unless that Bears D improves, they're gonna have a hard time against Favre and company. If they allowed the LIONS of all teams to hang around, certainly a Packers team with much to play for will beat them. The Pack will clinch if they win and G-Men lose.

Jacksonville at Kansas City

The Chiefs are almost unbeatable at Arrowhead in December. They were unbeaten there since 1996: that until the Ravens crashed their party. But they can still be really strong and will prevail here.

Miami at Indianapolis

Ronnie Brown blistered the Jets' last night. He will definitely have more success here.

New England at Tennessee

It's a battle of two of the NFL's biggest playmakers. If VY and company win, they'll stay alive (virtually speaking) and will need a lot of help. If Brady and company win, they can potentially steal the #3 seed from the Colts.

Oakland at NY Jets

A low-scoring contest. Chad Pennington and company need to be rock solid. This is likely an upset game if the Raiders actually ride their defense's momentum.

Pittsburgh at Cincinnatti

The Bengals' defense is improving. Carson Palmer and company may end up having a field day if Troy Palomalu gets a lot of playing time.

Seattle at Tampa Bay

A meaningless game that can only provide more momentum for the Seahawks going into the playoffs. They'll be able to pull this one off. The whole Buccanneer team needs heavy repairs and Jon Gruden has to keep his job.

St. Louis at Minnesota

Marc Bulger, like most other teams, will have a field day against the Vikings in the passing offense. To make it most effective: 2 words, Play Action!

Arizona at San Diego

Ray Lewis and company will morph into Cardinals' players' bodies and play really strong and beat the Chargers? Not. But the Ravens are the Cardinals' best cheerleaders. Cardinals win and the AFC playoffs will go through Baltimore (assuming Baltimore wins). But LT will put a bruising on that cardinal defense.

San Francisco at Denver

Is Jay Cutler the next John Elway? He's starting to look like it. Unless Denver's D steps up, this will be a high scoring game. But the Broncos will prevail and clinch a postseason berth.
