We have always used plywood for our electronics board because it is cheap, easy to cut and screw stuff to and also non-conductive incase someone makes a mistake and drops a screw/wire/etc. I would like to try something new and lighter this year. Does anyone have a favorite material they can recommend?

My favorite material to use is fiberglass balsa wood composite board. It's very strong and durable, and very very light. The only thing that I don't like is that its very easy to strip out a hole and you can't really nail anything to it. We were going to use carbon fiber balsa wood composite board in 2005, but carbon is well... conductive, so we quickly changed that idea .
