Re: Which wheels will you use for your robot this year?

I can't believe only one other team has posted saying they are going with the AM Mecanums... I think the demand for them really caught AndyMark off guard.

We're going with them, I know of two other teams who are, too. I'm looking forward to seeing the robot roll sideways.

P.S. I think my favorite set of wheels that I have seen so far were about 8" diameter, cut from two sheets of 3/4" plywood with a few "speed holes" drilled in with a hole saw, a strip of tread screwed around them, mounted on press-fit bearings and driven with a sprocket. Lightweight, grippy, easy and cheap. Wish I'd thought of it.
