Personally, I don't think this would happen ever; the chances of it are slim to none, based on the playing field. (PM me if it ever does, I would love to hear about it)
Also, unless you threw it up really really high, the time it takes for an object to rise and fall n feet/meters is pretty fast (based on physics ), meaning that with 3 seconds to go, it would probably be scored. And if you score like that in the last 3 seconds, it would be near impossible for the other alliance to react.
