If you can find the old globe motor somewhere that it's commercially available, then it's kosher. Otherwise, no. More importantly, if your old gearbox is not backdriveable and the current one is...... well I'm worried about your old gearbox. Those are simple planetary gearboxes, and should always be backdriveable unless there's some serious binding and damage in there. I'd run both of them with no load and an ammeter hooked up and make sure your old one isn't just shot. Though, of course, if it is shot, then you can just beat your new one with a hammer until it works the way you want.
