Re: 233 robot!!!!!!!!!

No offense, but teasers AFTER ship-day are pointless and meaningless.

I don't want to sound like a jerk, but seriously what team is going to take the time to admire your robot in week 5, and turn around and throw away everything they've worked on to change their design around? The answer is nobody. Period. And frankly it kind of screws the rest of us in the USA to see your robot, as 99% of us will not be attending you're regional. For me, I like to see a plethora of robots on CD to see what I will be missing, but if we keep making "teasers" me, and a lot of others will miss out.

I know you (not nessicarily referring to "you") get excited with the build season, but I do think we've seen hundreds of kit chassis. It's not a teaser, just post it on your website so if someone is browsing they can see what your working on. Now let me clarify, there are some brilliant teasers ( Wildstang this year is the best one I can think of) but 98% of the rest are blurry, grainy images that depict nothing about your robot that can be recongnized.

There was that thread earlier this year titled "no more teasers in 2007" and for the first 3 weeks or so of build season this year it was nice maybe one or two pictures up a day of something new. Then I got a little sick of seeing a pile of gears, a plastic plate, a sheet of carbon fibre, and the same 'ol kitbot chassis. Week 5 comes around, and expecting to see some finished robots (which there were) but no, still more teasers. What good do they do (aside from week 1-5)? Half of the pictures aren't even useful, and turn out to be some mechanism that is hidden from view.

Either
A) Post your "teaser" early in the build season
or
B) Post your robot (in it's current state) after week 5

Gah, I'm done with my rant; if you agree with me I'm glad, but if you don't please don't litter my rep box with negative comments, it doesn't matter to me.
