Yes we got the awesome idea from 179 and with this design it made the robot much more difficult to hit without ricocheting off. Also, we built a prototype in the preseason that was very similar in style and while testing the prototype we would run into objects and we were translated sideways, as opposed to being spun around, without any harm to either thing.

We'll see if we have any close-ups of the brake. If so we'll post them. The brake was actually made so that we wouldn't have to worry about any other robots messing with us at the rack. Or even if we were sitting on someone's robot and we are at a slant and worried that it would knock us off, we just engage the brake.
