Actually, I wondered the same thing, until finally I decided to stop being lazy and do some research.
Apparently, Dave Lavery loves Krispy Kreme donuts, and anything one of the Big Three (Dean, Dave, Woodie) loves becomes a FIRST obsession (ex: Segways).

[EDIT/]I have only gone to Krispy Kreme once, and didn't like it. Their donuts are small and expensive. Where I live there is a local donut shop line called Manley's Donuts, with donuts that are big and moist. My favorite: Apple Fritter
